562 : The Open Can

The Open can

A warning to those who would undo
The lid on private issues;
Once they’re loose you never know
If you have sufficient tissues

To dry
The teary, teary eye.

Things go perhaps not on your terms—
You quickly lose control when you
Open a can of worms.

    So true - but sometimes it's a relief to know the truth...

  3. This is why I like my food frozen. :-) This made me smile even though the truth doesn't always.

  4. So very very true. The worst is when you open a can not knowing what's in it ... and lo and behold, all hell breaks loose.

  5. Enter whether you dare or no; though some of my choices in life could certainly have used some editing. Great poetry, thanks.

  11. Gals from the silks and lace top drawer never disclose "private issues"

  12. Yes, J Cosmo, opening a can of worms is never a good idea. It can only bring unhappiness. Well said.

  14. Edward Snowden is teaching us all about cans of truth... for him, turns out it's worms, and more's the pity. There's too much we do NOT know about how our taxes are spent!

    On a lighter note, I just loved the throwback illustration of teh can of worms, and yes, I'll eat them if I have to... if it will get me what I need to know! Thanks, Cos. Amy
