787 - Drama Queen

Drama Queen
(to the tune of Dancing Queen - Abba)

You can flounce, you can pout, always having your nose put out,
See that show, watch that scene, mocking the poor Drama Queen.

Every night and the swoons are fake
Looking for some offence to take
It doesn’t matter what they say, interpret it the other way,
You come to create an affray
Anyone can cop that flack
If they don’t protect their back
With a few mocking words, sarcastic too
You have your sights upon your prey
With any sense they will slip away…

You’re the Drama Queen, ruddy faced, like a tangerine
Drama Queen, feel the heat of your venting spleen,
You can flounce, you can pout, always having your nose put out,
See that show, watch that scene, mocking the poor Drama Queen.

You’re a teaser, then turn on them
Leave them stinging with your venom
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You have your sights upon your prey
With any sense they will slip away…

You’re the Drama Queen, ruddy faced, like a tangerine
Drama Queen, feel the heat of your venting spleen,
You can flounce, you can pout, always having your nose put out,
See that show, watch that scene, mocking the poor Drama Queen.

    1. You tell me. They say that you should never ask a question unless you already know the answer.

      Perhaps [swoon] would be better?

  4. Ha. That face like tangerine provides a sign of warning... Oh no, I stay away.

  5. The whole point was to ensure the audience got the point. We have come to think of it more of someone spoiled trying to get attention. Nowadays we hide with embarrassment!

  8. I don't think Abba could imagine that many words but they can carry a tune...particularly liked singing 'Drama Queen, feel the heat of your venting spleen'... :)

This made me smile..! There are such drama queens everywhere sticking their nose up for some attention!

  11. Drama Queens are great strategists and they usually get what they want. If they don't they'll move on to get fresh victims. Fading away is the last option. Great write Cosmo!

  21. Wow, so well written I wanted to flee away from her. Cant imagine being like that. You wrote her in a highly entertaining way, Cosmo!

  22. In this age of reality TV, there's always at least one drama queen. Maybe the producers wanted the audience to hate someone.

Drama queens, for me, are full of insecurities. Nice play with the Abba song.

It was fun to sing it. I know her and will now think of her whenever I chance to hear the song. Hopefully not too often, lol,

  27. I particularly love, 'ruddy faced, like a tangerine'. Can't cope with drama queens myself; I always think life has enough real dramas without having to manufacture any.

  28. Drama is creating something tragic out of nothing. Well captured.

  29. Insecure personality with roots in too caring parents...who will replace them now.....result - drama queens/kings, imbalanced and unhappy...~ cool take on 'Abba' !
