Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week were: misery, privilege & stale.
A cheery bunch, but here goes:
Dedicated to Smokin' Joe
Men of privilege laugh and joke
About their balance sheet,
Inflicting misery onto those
They hope to never meet.
Far below, in the poorer parts,
Life is far from merry:
They struggle on,
Until, finally, they bury.
They hear the laughter from the hill,
It adds to their despair.
While the stale smell of good cigars
Hangs heavy in the air.
