962 - Stuffed and can't be stuffed.

Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week are:

tempting, specific and snuff.

Stuffed.
And can't be stuffed.

That flame,
That light,
Is quickly snuffed,
For no specific reason.
Just lots of things
Conspire to quell
The heart
This festive season.

I see.

But why just me?

You?  Well—

It’s tempting to try
To make you see
But in the end
I can’t be stuffed;
The fight is just too big for me.

  2. what have I done???
I just signed up for something... I dunno.
Good news, you CAN still be helpful. We can all be.
But it's gonna be harder than everyone thought.
More than the CO2 count from all the world's cars, trucks, trains, planes, and boats..... Livestock.
OK, then...let's get out those vegetarian recipes and trade them...
I can almost see the clear skies and clean water, now.

  3. If we don't fight, we're all stuffed.

Well, not entirely true, our future genertions are stuffed, but that's OK, they'll invent
some magic woo-powder to save the planet. They will, won't they? Oh. Really? Shit.

  4. It's tempting to be too specific or to snuff it all off

    1. The battlement walls are greased with money, greed and self-interest. Hard to get a footing, let alone traction.

  6. Originally I was thinking of climate when I wrote this but it applies equally to any view that is contrary to the evidence but held firmly, grimly, and unquestioned as to the logic ol it all. Religion, football, trickle-down economics, the love of Brussel Sprouts. Tribalism and faith; a hideous soup.

    1. You refuse to acknowledge there are things you will never have tangible evidence for such as a more powerful force outside our own limited realm of humanity ...a Creator, most humans name as "God" You are like a blind person....If you cant see it ,it does not exist.Others can see and there is a lot of them
Get a grip! Tsk (NO...not there!:)

    2. Religion was just a small part of it. And happy to leave folk to their own but when they try to control my life with their faith because their God told them they could to do so, I am, I feel, rightly peeved. When they say we can trash the planet because they were given the planet by God and God would not let anthing bad happen, I feel I am right to be pissed off. But, but these morons have too much power.

    3. As a Catholic it is forbidden to trash the environment. In fact it is the only Christian religion that makes the destruction of the environment a grievous sin.I cannot speak for break away cults and other religions.Hope you enjoyed your Sunday performing little nut bush dances in a cigarette smoke free environment filled fresh air:)

    4. Maybe but they get around it by denying that pollution is trashing the environment so therefore it is OK.

  16. Well, we all have times of feeling like that – hopefully not lasting. Meanwhile, the rhyming and construction is very nifty.

  18. There is always the choice to enter the fray, or to sit it out. How can we know that we are not that last and necessary piece, needed to put all in place?
