835 - Sun-Stroke

Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week are: enigmatic, grovel, and faulty.

Sun-Stroke

So enigmatic—
Serene, remote and aloof.
Is anybody home?

But they follow them:
A case of misplaced desire
And faulty thinking.

They grovel, prostrate
Before their golden icons.
Such misguided souls.

But is there a soul
That can then be misguided?
We will never know.

They seek more recruits—
There is comfort in numbers.
A pyramid scheme.

  1. They live in fear and are too ignorant to realise it. I stopped believing in fairy tales when I grew out of childhood.

  2. Is there a soul to be misguided... The question begs to be asked doesn't it...!

  3. I like the play on pyramid scheme -- from time immemorial there are always false gods, those who bow before them and what about those souls? perhaps that's the secret pretending to belong but keeping your self safe, untouchable and deliciously contrary in the back of your head...I bet even some who surrender on the outside are quietly repeating 'fuck you' on the inside..i hope so...but then i am uncouth

  10. Oh wow this took me to so many levels...those who worshipped gods in ancient cultures, to those who worship money and fear and death now....well done!

  11. That is the wondering that I have - whether there are souls inside some bodies and, if so, how they can perform the crazed acts they do. Lost souls, I suppose, with a dark karma.

  13. People like to create the fetish of everything....and follow as if any perfection is possible...maybe it replaces the self awakening, or maybe these are just young souls....

  14. I see it. Sunstroke is a good name for this blind following of the unreachable top.

  15. Misguided? We are when we refuse to listen to the soul's knowledge.

  16. I'm comforted to know that these people apparently don't all live in the US.

  17. But they follow them:
    A case of misplaced desire

Sounds very familiar! They follow blindly for 2 reasons, 1) they want to recover whatever they had expended 2) they are motivated by greed of enormous income. On both counts they lose eventually!

  18. A universal franchise and parliamentary system is what is missing. Too long there has been a rule of law and fear. Who can fathom the outcome while profits are still to be made.
