851 - Well, flock me!

Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week are: fearful, grimace and engulf.

Tried to make a light limerick from the words - couldn't.

Well, flock me!

When fears engulf us
We huddle together—a flock.
The wolves then herd us.

Political games!
Every right to be fearful—
We are being used.

We grimace, amazed—
Surely this is not happening?
But, transfixed, follow.

  3. We are indeed sheep at times - perhaps not out of choice..but then we can use pencils and pens and raise our concerns whereas our prettier..woolier friends become rather delicious chops..

  5. Once it was all power to the masses to replace monarchs and dictators but now we elect our own torturers who are paid both by us and corporate giants. Almost time for revolution again.

  7. I want it to be untrue. Sadly, it is.

Your title made me grin, by the way. ;-)

  8. Very nicely done. :-) I especially liked reading this, as our politicians are currently trying to 'scare' us in to remaining in the EU. (You never know what a 'leap in the dark' will lead to, David Cameron tells us.) :-)

  9. I feel exactly the same way, disbelieving what is happening. Surely it cannot be!

  11. Sigh - the wolves seem to be everywhere in this day and age. Hard to avoid them.

  16. True in a way. When there's a lot of anxiety, one huddles and cozies up. The other assertions are true as well. Nicely put.

  17. When fears engulf us
    We huddle together—

    Absolute truth in these lines
    Words of wisdom I say!
