869 - It's sedimentary, Dr Watson.

Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week are: unselfish, winding and amoral.

It's sedimentary, Dr Watson.

An hypothesis—
It’s like a kite flown on the wind:
It can crash to earth.

That is how it works:
You launch your idea skywards
And others throw rocks.

With no agenda,
All ideas are unselfish;
Proponents not so.

You must take a stand,
You cannot be amoral,
Unless you are a rock.

As far as kites go,
You build them with gossamer.
Using rock wont work.

Knowledge is a path:
Winding, forked, heading for light.
But does it find ‘truth’?

Truth is quite fluid
This year’s sphere of molten rock
Is last year’s flat earth.

Yet, what is a rock?
Science agrees on one thing:
They make a good pet.

Petting's good fun. But a rock? Really?

  3. Every one a winner - love your way with words - all three of them. Do I have a fave - hard to select but probably:
    "That is how it works:
    You launch your idea skywards
    And others throw rocks."

  4. Great way of a metaphor... Still it seems like we always admire the rock much more than the kite.

  6. Oh the idea of the pet rock never dies! Less hassle than a pet dog, I guess.

  7. A metaphor that teaches of reasoning and thinking. I like it! It would be such fun to discuss with students.

  10. I love how each built on the last creating a wonderful message...

    'With no agenda,
    All ideas are unselfish;
    Proponents not so.'

How very true as we work through the process.

  12. A rock can be many things but the absolute is contained, in the thing it can never be,i.e. a sentient entity.Absolute truth exists...and not to be confused with a truism such as, there is no man alive or dead who has ever managed to clean a bathroom satisfactorily:)

    1. Wasn't the a song or something: "he tried to do what could not be done, an he couldn't bloody do it!". My advice: don't attempt the impossible. Put in low wattage globes and hide your wife's glasses.

There is lots to see.
