1197 - Sunny Morning

Sunny Morning
Breaking old habits.

Have you ever woken and found
That what had hung over you,
That what had clung onto you,
Had disappeared in the night?
You’ll like it if you do.

It’s not so much delight,
It’s more a sort of relief,
An absence of the angst and grief
That darkened life around—
Missed,
The way you don’t miss a thief.

  1. I live in hope. At the moment the things which hang over me gain weight and mass overnight.

  2. Death and taxes, seems they will be hanging over me and clinging to me whatever

  3. Delightful! I'm glad I stopped by this morning to bear witness to the missing thief (if such a thing is possible).
