679 : The Brick

Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week were accelerate, rogue, and passive.

The Brick

Consider, if you will, the brick;
A passive sort of block.
An over-baked lump of clay,
A better class of rock.

No rogues are found in Brickland,
They’re conforming little swines.
They join the right wing parties
And vote on party lines.

They stay exactly where you put them,
Slothful, cold and stiff;
They only ever accelerate
If you push them off a cliff.

  3. Hmmm. A brick can have positive connotations... as when someone says "You're a brick," meaning a machine age Rock of Gibraltar. You should be a poetry prof. Are you a poetry professor?

  4. Oh, Cos, this is wicked fun! Sounds like America's Congress plus the 1%, and I do have moments of picturing them all "lemming" off a cliff. You know me, this is my cup of tea! So glad to be back... Amy

  6. Hilarious, the perfect Cosmo wit at its best. Yes, they never move unless pushed. Politics and politicians are the same the world over! Great!

      He'd be more impressed if you could read his unwritten ones!
