CDXXVIII - Missed the List

Missed the List.

Santa was at pains to insist:
That the good were found on his list.
But the ones who weren't there
Got their presents elsewhere
And weren't too sad to be missed.

  1. Is she wishing for you for Christmas, Cosmo...or is she on your Christmas list?

I know I'm a little early...but just in case...I wish your and your family a very Merry Christmas..it's a big one for you all this year. And I hope that 2013 treats you all with kindness and fulfills all your hopes and dreams. :)

(Even if it does include the lady depicted above!)

  2. One way or another, presents are given. As a kid, I hated the idea of the list...as I knew I had sometimes been 'naughty' rather than 'nice.'

  5. I believe that considerably more fun is had by those not on the list. Though this may be rationalisation - I don't think I ever will quite make it...

  9. Very clever... my daughter tells me there is a current craze called Elf on a Shelf... you buy it for your child and you put it on a shelf in their room and tell them the elf is watching them and every evening they travel back to the North Pole to report if they were naughty or nice... I don't know whether to laugh or cry, but your poem certainly gave me a chuckle.

  10. LOL! You can't always get what you want, but if you try, try try... You amuse so completely with so few words! Thank you!

  12. Oh, my, well, um, . . . yes, J.C. You're dreaming of a "different" Christmas. Dashing through the bush, perhaps, in your rusty Holden ute, but it's not a Kelpie by your side.

Merry Christmas, Cosmo. Hope you have a brilliant 2013.
