Theme Thursday has the topic 'Chocolate'.
Chocolate, or cocoa at least, has the scientific name
Theobroma, 'food of the gods'. Which begs the question:
Can an atheist eat chocolate?
Food of the Gods
Forget the fishes and the bread,
Shun the wine and wafer,
If you’re seeking a god’s favour,
Giving chocolate is much safer.
Rejoice in the god’s food of choice!
Savour the plight of the infidel!
Facing eternity ahead
With no chocolate in his hell.

Where on earth will you get THAT much holy water?
DeleteI love chocolates !!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed - hell is indeed being without dark chocolate! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI work in an all-female environment. If it weren't for our daily rations of chocolate .... all hell would, indeed, break loose!

mmm...chocolate. you definitely caught my attention.
ReplyDeleteFruit and raw nuts have been my choice of food these past few days...well, by force and necessity...I had really little say in the matter. But, it's just as well I love fruit and raw nuts! I didn't even have any chocolate...I had some in my fridge...but I didn't want to open my fridge...the explanation for such non-opening is in my blog!
ReplyDeletelol @ the atheist eating chocolate. I guess for them it would definitely not be a sin :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, J Cosmo! Nice to be back enjoying your stellar humor. And if you're passing out chocolate bars, I like the bittersweet dark :)
Yay. But I'd want wine with that :)
ReplyDeleteI guess that would be hell for some people.
ReplyDeleteI like it. It certainly is food of the gods.
ReplyDeleteKinda makes you wonder how many atheists would convert if they were only allowed to eat chocolate if they believed in God. I am so thankful that I do not have to choose.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a thought provoking poem for this weeks Theme Thursday. Hope you have a week filled with lots of chocolate enticements.
God bless.
Clever. Brings to mind Dorothy Parker
