536 : Head Lights

I'm not a big user of small form poems, such as the Haiku.
So it's hard to tell where these came from.
At 5am, it's hard to tell where anything comes from.

Head Lights

A slip of the tongue,
A word said without thinking,
Shines light inwards.

Inadvertently,
By way of careless comments,
We reveal too much.

Off the cuff comments
Are windows into the heart
And reveal the belief.

  1. I don't think any of us would relish too strong a light shining into our dark corners. But what you say is true enough. Sort of a sober version of 'in vino veritas', isn't it?

  2. Your 5am thoughts are much more coherent than mine. And much, much more elegantly expressed.

  7. Hi J.C. ~~ This suits me fine. I enjoy being a private person. But I sure do like to know what the others are doing. Private for me, public for them. :) XD

  8. Pretty deep for 5 a.m. At 5 a.m. I was flinging my face mask across the room thinking sleep apnea has GOT to be less bothersome than STUPID face masks!!!!!!!!

  9. Sure, a slip can let in a glimmer of light, but words said intentionally flip the switch on the floodlights.

It is a position that comes with a lot of responsibilities. I feel I should tell you that all my previous slaves are deceased possibly from being too zealous and over conscientious on the job but each one died with a smile on his face:)
