1205 - Alone

Alone

The noise of the sea is a constant,
The wind just comes and goes;
The spray comes off the wave tops,
The sand runs through the toes.

Alone,
A chance to think
And hone,
To stop the headlong
Forward pace;
To recognise
That life is not a sprint,
And really not a race.

    And meander through life slowly.

  5. A wonderful opening stanza painting the coastal background through sounds and feelings, where being alone is just right, and life is not a sprint or a race.

  9. For long lived animals we do waste a lot of time don't we? Then as our bodies begin to crumble we have our regrets abiut those wasted years.

  12. Oh yes. I need my ocean front a few times a year. And I adore a mild "winter" beach. Beautiful write.

  13. Yes, take time to listen to the ocean, and rest in the sound of its waves. Time goes by so fast.
