Trifecta had the prompt to use the word dinosaur and the third dictionary
definition of dinosaur ('one that is impracticably large') in a work of between 33 and 333 words.
The T-Rex & The Lamp
The dinosaur known as T Rex
Pined for arms with bulging biceps.
The original pair
Just hung in mid-air
And were useless for eating or sex.
Though he went to the gym and the staff
Worked at building his arms by a half,
The results just annoyed
And he became paranoid,
As little mammals would see him and laugh.
But three wishes there to be hadin’.
When he chanced on the lamp of Aladdin
But his arms were too teeny
To awaken the genie,
A tale most certain to sadden.
Pined for arms with bulging biceps.
The original pair
Just hung in mid-air
And were useless for eating or sex.
Though he went to the gym and the staff
Worked at building his arms by a half,
The results just annoyed
And he became paranoid,
As little mammals would see him and laugh.
But three wishes there to be hadin’.
When he chanced on the lamp of Aladdin
But his arms were too teeny
To awaken the genie,
A tale most certain to sadden.

Poor T Rex! Sometimes the small, rather than the big, are the mighty!!
ReplyDeleteI love "...three wishes to be hadin'". The whole poem is terrific and so sad, given his arms are not useful, especially the sex part. Great job with this.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! Fun read, that made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteLOL !! This is the second time today you've made me laugh out loud. Where ever do you find these images ???? and what came first - the poem or the image?
ReplyDeleteStill laughing,
xxx
RDG: Saw the picture a day or so ago, the prompt came along yesterday and I couldn't resist.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteLoud smiles again. Thank you. Who ever thought that we should feel sorry for poor T Rex.
ReplyDeletePoor Rex. Just couldn't get a grip on his reality. So to speak. So sad.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious! The picture was perfect for the poem. His arms might be small, but if you made fun of him he could just smash you with his tail or bite your head off. I think that makes him a formidable creature :)
ReplyDeleteI love visiting your blog ... your humor filled writings really make my day :-)
ReplyDeleteoh, this is priceless! Love the dino at the gym. And just love how this comes together so well. You have a knack for rhythms and rhymes!
ReplyDeleteBravo! Loved it! :D
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun read!
ReplyDeleteOooh, double use of the word!!! The dinosaur of dinosaurs. And that's damned funny. I loved the part about useless for sex. Now I'm trying to imagine humping t-rexes. Thanks a LOT.
ReplyDeleteGreat fun. A kangaroo has short arms, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat should he do?
Oh my...poor TRex. I bet he gets laughed at :)
ReplyDeleteHehe. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
*hahaha* This is fantastic, and just begs to be read out loud.
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious. Like Jester, I'm thinking about dinosaur sex now. Great job. Incidentally, I once had a friend who earned the nickname "TRex" because he was so cheap. The idea was that his arms were too short to reach into his pockets.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up! Hope you'll come back Friday for the new prompt.
