CCXVII - All that glistens

.

Been on the receiving end of a few senior management types recently;
the types who think that, because something looks good on a spreadsheet, it is good.

Even if the goals are contradictory.

All that Glistens

"We have a job for you:
We’re sure that you’re the man
To bring together opposites,
And on budget, if you can."

"We know it sounds impossible,
Combining scissors paper rocks,
But you can make it happen
If you think outside the box."

Oh, spare me from the platitudes
That stifle all debates,
Nothing is impossible
To the man who delegates.

The task, it is more difficult,
Far harder than he thinks;
A dead herring gleams in moonlight
But even so, it stinks.

  6. That's what the undo button is for, isn't it? One push and all is right once more. At least in the world of spreadsheets.
