One Minute Writer has a daily prompt that we are supposed to complete in a minute.
Never going to make the time limit with a long poem but welcome the prompt.
Quiet Love
I loved you
From the beginning,
Your eyes,
Your heart,
Your mind,
Entranced me
Beyond all reason
Left me dazzled
More than blind.
Sure you’re flawed.
But aren’t we all
So lowly scored?
It’s been a while
Since I met you—
When you sent
My world a’spinning.
I loved you then—
Still do.

Thats so beautiful. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLove with open eyes. Wonderful. My mother once told me that we don't think that the people we love are perfect - we just prefer their faults to other people's virtues.
ReplyDeleteOff centre?
ReplyDeleteFrom the side-lines.
DeleteI can understand how you are smitten with this loveliness. Gorgeous photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem... and the photo
ReplyDeleteMeeting the time limit or no, this is a gorgeous tribute, J Cosmo.
ReplyDeletesmiles....cool little love poem...and we are all flawed...i think that only adds to the beauty and the mystery of love...
ReplyDeleteWhat will you do with 30 minutes?
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing. Right first time.
I've been on the One Minute Site and never created anything this wonderful (or long!). You have a nimble mind, Cos, and your paean to the lovely, lost Marilyn brought a tear to my eye. As for the flaws, that's what makes us unique! Amy
ReplyDeleteWOW!! that sums it up!
ReplyDeleteEntranced beyond all reason--nicely done!
ReplyDeleteA one-minute genius lover!
ReplyDeleteOne minute and perfect, J Cosmo.
ReplyDeletePamela
Another of your lovely love poems, although I suspect the photo is a red herring.
ReplyDeleteSometimes what "just comes out" is the best of all. Nice write.
