Once a Jackal.
The jackal,
A street fighter,
A brawler,
Cunning,
Conniving,
Sly as they come,
With awkward gait
And imitation smile,
Hunting
As a pack,
Can bring down
A leopard.
But
A Jackal
Will always
Be a jackal.
And
A leopard
Will always
Be a leopard.

The leopard is a noble creature. The jackal is a vermin feeder. Just because the leopard cannot change its spots does not mean it is unable to demolish every single jackal eventually by picking them off one at a time.
ReplyDelete…but in a pack?
DeleteHence the term here in the USA, a jackal lantern. What? That's not it?
ReplyDeleteI was once lucky to see a leopard - it was in the Ngorogoro Crater in Tanzania. The guide was very excited, he said there had been a biologist in the crater for 3 years looking but who had never seen one, and here she was. ~
No, no, no!
DeleteRe the leopard: well spotted.
My ex is like that myopic biologist .....can't see the leopards for the spots!
DeleteBoth have their uses. But I know which I prefer.
ReplyDeleteand i will always be me, and you will always be you, happy holidays...
