Imaginary Garden with Real Toads has the prompt of 'bamboo'.
High Rise
Bamboo forests.
Quick growing,
Towering upwards,
With no interaction.
Sleek, tall and discrete,
Tubular belles.
Compartmentalised.
The wind
Whistles
Mournfully
Around them,
Through them.
They sway slightly
And moan to the sky.
As solid as they are,
They are largely
Empty.
Apartment blocks.
In green.

I refuse to pander to your whims, Cosmo; but a panda wouldn't...not with all that bamboo around!
ReplyDeletea very out of the box thinking!
ReplyDeleteMuch more attractive than the majority of apartment blocks. Faster growing too.
ReplyDeleteI love the approach you took in your description of the bamboo: As solid as they are/They are largely empty.. Wow! Each comparison is so apt. Yet you remind us of the ethereal beauty of those gigantic grass stalks swaying in the wind.
ReplyDeletelove this green highrise...
ReplyDeleteOh what imaginary - largely empty - just like suburbs straight lines.. And the mournful wind..
ReplyDeletenice twist, JCN ~
ReplyDeleteMaybe we'll evolve back to these beginnings. Maybe we're already there and don't know it, knocking about in the breeze. Centering the lines works for this.
ReplyDeleteand now for something a little different... great approach you had me thinking on different tangents...
ReplyDeleteCool perspective...I think I'd much rather live in one of these great green organic ones...
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing!
Loved this - the apartment blocks in green was a cool surprise.
