Haiku Heights has the prompt "Gifts"

The gifts worth having
Are not those bought with money
But freely given.

  2. Exactly Cosmo, rightly said! But still it is not easily given!

  4. Freely given from the heart, if only more would follow this creed. Well said!

  6. True.

I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, Cosmo...may their presents be your presence. And may 2014 treat us all kindly. Take good care. :)

  11. What a great haiku. I have a son who once had the audacity to complain that his presents were rubbish. He was quite young and dazzled by the advertising that goes with Christmas and had the misfortune to be born to parents who think in the way your Haiku articulates. He is a rather older first born now but every birthday and Christmas he gets a plain red HB pencil to remind him of his ingratitude. He got a special one for his 18th and 21st birthdays.
