652 : High Rise

Imaginary Garden with Real Toads has the prompt of 'bamboo'.

High Rise

Bamboo forests.
Quick growing,
Towering upwards,
With no interaction.
Sleek, tall and discrete,
Tubular belles.
Compartmentalised.

The wind
Whistles
Mournfully
Around them,
Through them.
They sway slightly
And moan to the sky.
As solid as they are,
They are largely
Empty.

Apartment blocks.
In green.

  1. I refuse to pander to your whims, Cosmo; but a panda wouldn't...not with all that bamboo around!

  3. Much more attractive than the majority of apartment blocks. Faster growing too.

  4. I love the approach you took in your description of the bamboo: As solid as they are/They are largely empty.. Wow! Each comparison is so apt. Yet you remind us of the ethereal beauty of those gigantic grass stalks swaying in the wind.

  6. Oh what imaginary - largely empty - just like suburbs straight lines.. And the mournful wind..

  8. Maybe we'll evolve back to these beginnings. Maybe we're already there and don't know it, knocking about in the breeze. Centering the lines works for this.

  10. Cool perspective...I think I'd much rather live in one of these great green organic ones...

    Thank you for writing!
