pommeroy is a rare name too...less than 1000 in the US in any census since the 1800s...it can be used as a first name, but that is typically male and just even rarer...its french in origin...and means apple orchard...
Promises, but no results. Isn't that so like life. But maybe there was more; maybe page 23 was imbedded in page 17, or page 22. One never knows these days.
Or maybe the plan was for you to make up your own page 23. That's always a possibility!
Maybe that's the mystery?
ReplyDeleteCould well be.
DeleteSeriously, what do you think the answer is?
DeleteI feel that I somehow know Ms Pommeroy. Can't explain why. And why page 23 when the poem is #23. It can't be coincidence. A divine message, I'm sure.
DeleteReally? How old is the comic?
DeleteDidn't Rumpole visit Pommeroy's for a bottle of the old claret?
ReplyDeleteTrue but I think it was run by a Mr Pommeroy.
DeleteI knew a Miss Pommeroy. Maybe she became a Ms.
ReplyDeleteShe ran the back room at The Whip & 'Cuff. Went by the stage name of Madame Lash.
I suspect this one will just give a small peck on the cheek.
ReplyDeleteThat could be fun.
DeleteWhich cheeks are you thinking of?
DeleteNow you are being cheeky!
DeleteMoi?
Deleteand is it just coincidence that it is issue 23 as well....hmmm...
ReplyDeletethe mystery deepens...
i do love old comics though.

DeleteYou are a mine (or possibly an orchard) of information. Thank you.
DeleteYou still read comics? I'm shocked!
ReplyDeleteWell I can't get my head around your statistic and programming books so this is the next best thing.
DeleteYou wuz robbed.
ReplyDeleteIndeed I wuz.
Deleteha - maybe it was part 23 or the mystery is in the mystery and they don't want it to be solved

Peace, joy, and Bear hugs, too.
A refreshing change from the mundane life............
ReplyDeleteI assume that Ms Pommery kept them for hemself
ReplyDeleteThat is just mean. One should never be left without 23... page, issue, mystery...
ReplyDeleteNow you have me curious too!
ReplyDeleteOops!
ReplyDeleteMr. Pommeroy removed it not wanting the rest of the world to see...to them Ms Pommeroy would remain a mystery.
ReplyDeleteThat is probably the best, and truest, close to this saga. Remain a mystery forever. Thank you.
Deletelove!
