Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week are: knotted, livid and impolite.
It’s called ‘seeing red’:
Livid, a hot haze descends,
Reason is absent.
◊
People do stupid stuff.
If it’s impolite to point
Can I just snigger?
◊
“You should just stay calm”
“Don’t get your knickers knotted”
Neither advice helps.

reason is generally absent in such situations...
ReplyDeleteTrue.
DeleteSome situations lead to tragedy because pf some stupid stuff.
ReplyDeleteNot just the domain of the stupids stuff but I get your drift.
DeleteSmiling at "If it's impolite to point can I just snigger"....!
ReplyDeleteIf smiling doesn't work, you may snigger.
DeleteAll the royal family point fingers. They must be very rude.In the same category, I suppose, as people who leave rude text messages:)
ReplyDeleteIndeed. Sadly, in real life, there is not a Cmd_Z undo button.
DeleteAdvice (particularly of the unsolicited variety) rarely does help. And can cause me to see red.
ReplyDeleteI am getting an image...
DeleteGo on snigger away, they may not think it is about them.
ReplyDeleteYou may have a point there, thank you.
DeleteThere is nothing more like red rag to a bull than being told to 'calm down' (dear) ;)
ReplyDeleteAs many a Coroner's inquest can affirm.
DeleteExcellent write. Kudos :D
ReplyDeleteI like your succinct observations.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is hard not to be succinct in a senryu. It hobbles my natural tendency to run off at the mouth. =:-O
DeleteAs much as I want to do the pointing out of something or someone I dislike &/or something stupid or someone doing stupid stuffs, not all people are actually open to get hurt from honest feedbacks, so yeah... most often than not I prefer to just keep things up to myself, silently correcting them. :) I like these kind of Haikus! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, granted, we should not hurt gratuitously. As I get older, I am slowly learning to be more careful.
DeleteEach part is a succinct reminder of the foibles of humankind. I enjoyed the search for each word you tucked away.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am foiblier than most. Thank you.
DeleteWise words, JC. Sometimes one does need to be able to just 'snigger.'
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteI think pointing out other's stupidity really never helps... maybe walk away and maybe at a later stage just laugh at it.
ReplyDeletePerhaps feed stock for a limerick here and there?
DeleteI love how you have woven these 3 together....they flow together wonderfully! Many times there is little reason or help in others advice to us.
ReplyDeleteI do both warp and weft. Mostly warp.
DeleteThe image you chose for this poem is perfect, especially after reading the second stanza. ;-D
ReplyDeleteI love your particular brand of wry humour, kiddo.
ReplyDeleteJust as well, it's all i have. :-)
DeleteWhen that livid hot haze descends, the advice to stay calm sometimes raises the temperature ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah? Wadderyamean, you bastard?
DeleteOh. I see. Right. OK. True.
Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha Good ones!
ReplyDeleteZQ
Maybe the best advice is to do nothing at all?
ReplyDeleteLove the connectedness of all three...funny!
