The Offering.
Christmas Eve, 2013.
I was busy,
Engrossed
In my work.
She appeared
Unannounced
And handed me
A home-made
Chocolate mousse.
“It’s for you” she said.
An embarrassed smile,
A surprised ‘thank you’
And she was gone.

ReplyDelete'Twas the night before Christmas,
ReplyDeleteWhen all through the house
Not a creature was stirring,
Not even a...
...mousse?
Ho-ho-ho.
DeleteHaving a bit of a chocolate theme happening of late, aren't you!
ReplyDeleteFunny how life's events can run in packs; wasn't planned that way.
DeleteI want your job, my employees never give me chocolates of any description, mind you they've made dinner before. I shouldn't moan.
ReplyDeleteNo, you definitely should not be complaining! Dinner! Now I want your job.
DeleteChocolate is always a good prompt...
ReplyDeleteOh!
ReplyDeleteIt's 10:20 am and now I want chocolate mousse. I love chocolate mousse.
Medic! Mousse to table 6!
DeleteI like this. It paints a really clear, sharp picture for me.
ReplyDeleteA delicious offering indeed..
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat. To receive, and to read about. Thanks. And was it a good chocolate mousse?
ReplyDeleteIt was. Very good.
Deletewhere did she go?

DeleteThat's an excellent offering!
