I used to go along with turning the "other cheek" but found that a one-two knock out punch was more painful than i had anticipated. Don't get me wrong, though. Because I had done it for, what? 60 years? Has made it a habit, and the fact is, I fear that some day someone is going to expect the cheek turning from me, but will be greeted by an angry curmudgeon. Dang if we don't have some more -11 (that's Fahrenheit) coming day after tomorrow. (that's -23.8, in case you don't have a computer)
I love your religious poetry. It is so inspirational!
ReplyDeleteCheeky poem, that!
ReplyDeleteI've never understood, "turn the other cheek." why? I'd rather reach out and touch someone.
ReplyDeleteIntroduce myself to someone, properly!
it certainly looks as if there are cheeks turned in some very strange positions in the photo.
ReplyDeleteWise advice. Wise.
