662 : The List

Three Word Wednesday requires participants
to use the three words of the week in a composition.
The words this week were faithful, isolate and scrutinize.

The List

When you scrutinize your circle
Of friends and merely so,
When you isolate the faithful
From those you should let go,
You get a better picture
Of the dismal catalogue—
The more I mix with people
The more I like my dog.

  1. How very true..I feel the same about my rattie.. Although maybe a prune of the circle makes for a small but faithful group of friends..

  8. There is a mutual need between man (or woman) and their dog. Both tries to please the other apart that is from giving up their place in front of the fire. Dogs are not too judgmental.

  9. Similar applies to me...the more I like my two furry, four-legged rascals...but I've been saying that for a long while now! :)

  10. I can relate! I really don't have any close friends outside of my family. My brother is my best friend, his soon to be husband and I have become very close too. My kids and I are close. My husband is my other best friend, and his older brother means well even if he is sometimes a lunkhead. Other than that, I keep to my cats!
