One Minute Writer had a topic called "Waiting".
"What are you waiting for?"
Waiting
Patience, we’re told, is a treasure,
A virtue, and so, beyond measure.
But it’s so irritating
To sit around waiting
For a tradesman to come, at his leisure.
◊◊◊
Punctuality, there’s not much to it,
Should you ever wish to pursue it;
But it can be a shock
To arrive on the clock
As no-one ever sees you do it.

I am biologically wired to be on time (I got the double gene that completely skipped both my parents). I have mini-nervous breakdowns if I'm late. But everyone else in my life is always late. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteI HATE waiting for people. I am so terribly impatient. Which is sort of unfair, seeing as I have a hard time being anywhere on time.
ReplyDeletei personally hate to hurry up and wait ..
ReplyDeletePatience and punctuality are two worthy goals,
ReplyDeleteUnless you're uncouth and descended from trolls. ;)
I am punctual. It is one of my 'things'.
ReplyDeleteIf I say I will be somewhere at a certain time I will crawl over broken glass to fulfil my promise.
There was an old clock
ReplyDeleteWhich was put into hock
It went on that way
Until you came to pay
Never a truer word spoken, especially in India...
ReplyDeleteI thought "hmmmmm...usually he rhymes his stuff" and realized I was using the less poetic "leeeezure" while you were using "leathzure."
ReplyDeleteAnd I am a Miss Early Bird myself. I cannot abide lateness...but it seems to be the way of the world today! It is always such a shock when someone does show up on time!
Great as usual.
Oh how I hate to wait! My girls know that when I am ready to leave that they better be in the car ready to go for fear of being left behind. :)
ReplyDeleteI hate the utility workers, or service repair men who tell you they will be there between 8 am and 5 pm, so you have to wait all day. Usually they come around 5!
ReplyDeleteI think every one of us can relate to this! Well said.
ReplyDeleteJ,
ReplyDeleteFirst time visiting your blog!!!Wow, nice work. I can't write poetry but enjoy reading it and you really have a talent for this mode. I am linking up your sight at Wood and Pixels. Hope you had a great Aussie Holiday!
